Hello, lovely.
He’s here.
Our baby boy arrived last Thursday, and I have been living in a different kind of time ever since. The kind that is measured in naps and feeding cues and the particular silence of a sleeping newborn on your chest.
I had every intention of showing up here last Wednesday. Then labor started and the week became something else entirely.
I had an unmedicated natural homebirth and I am still sitting with the fullness of that experience. The reflection is coming. I am working on it slowly and intentionally, in the in-between moments, and I will share it when I’m ready.
For now I am just here. Turning inward and cherishing every moment of it. Learning how to be a mother in real time, recovering, running on a series of naps, and soaking up every bit of support from my incredible husband and my mama aka Gammie.
My phone has mostly been on do not disturb. The world outside this little bubble we are living in feels the perfect distance away and I am in no hurry to close the gap.
Weekly posts are paused for now. I may drop into Notes when something surfaces that wants to be said in a few sentences. If you want those small updates, make sure you are subscribed and following so they find you.
Until then I will be right here, staring at our milk drunk baby boy and figuring out, one moment at a time, who I am on this side of everything.

So happy for your little family!
Blessings to you and the baby. Happy for you and Robert. Love every moment. Life is fleeting. Cherish each and every moment including the rough moments. Not trying to be preachy, but it is even in the Bible James 4:14 - “For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” Extended blessings to your in-laws and your family as well. Peace and Love. P.S. Tell Robert he is my favorite lawyer.
